Kick-off on skis
Sessions in the morning, slopes or cross-country tracks in the afternoon, the gala at a fell-top restaurant.
How it runs
- MorningKick-off sessions in a hotel conference space.
- AfternoonSkiing or snowshoeing in groups by level, with instructors.
- Late afternoonSauna.
- EveningGala at a fell-top restaurant.
What to know
- Instructors split groups by level. Non-skiers snowshoe or take a lesson.
- From February the light returns, which makes the afternoons long enough to ski.
- School ski holiday weeks fill hotels. We plan around them.
Good for
Sales kick-offs and annual company events.
Not for
Groups who want a city programme.
Questions planners ask
What if most of the team can't ski?
That's normal. Beginners get lessons, and snowshoeing works for everyone.
Is it safe?
Groups go out with instructors, on marked slopes and tracks, with rental gear fitted properly.
When is the best time?
March, for the light and the snow, avoiding the school holiday weeks.
Thinking of doing this?
Borrow the idea, it's yours. If you'd like a hand, or just a second opinion on whether it suits your group, write to me. I produce ideas like this one at Sorry, No Polar Bears, a Helsinki studio I co-run.
